How we’re making a difference in lives and businesses.
Exponential Workforce Improvement
Florida SouthWestern State College and Punta Gorda Airport host the full curriculum for Airframe and Powerplant mechanic training (A&P) from the College of Aviation at Western Michigan University. Because A&P mechanics are often viewed as the “surgeons of advanced manufacturing,” Charlotte County is on track to generate exponential improvements in workforce quality.
With a growing 18-54 age demographic, Charlotte County offers a ready-to-work labor pool in a right-to-work state. The workforce numbers 525,000 within 60 miles, and 1.2 million within the three counties of Charlotte, Sarasota and Lee. Skilled performance is assured through customized, no-cost training from CareerSource Southwest Florida, which is administered through souces such as Charlotte Technical College and Florida SouthWestern State College.
If your business needs help recruiting specialized talent, hiring new team members, training existing employees, or all three, FloridaFlex can help. Our own team of business and economic development professionals can offer expertise, funding and resources – including labor market data – to help you succeed. Other local educational resources include Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and Florida Gulf Coast University.
